On Dec 13th 2015, Richard K. Wolf had been to Gurukulam (Brhaddhvani) to meet Dr. Shri. Karaikudi Subramanian.
He has recently written a book “The Voice in the Drum- Music, Language, and Emotion in Islamicate South Asia”. He presented a copy of this book to Dr. Karaikudi Subramanian.

Richard. K. Wolf is a Veena student of Sangitha Acharya Smt. Ranganayaki Rajagopalan. Smt. She was the prime student of Shri Karaikudi Sambasiva Iyer of the Karaikudi Veena tradition. He is currently a Professor of Music Ethnomusicology at Harvard University Department of Music, Cambridge, MA 02138.
